Wendy ParadisACTA President

With over 30 years' experience in the travel industry, Wendy Paradis brings her extensive knowledge, expertise and passion to her role as President of ACTA and Board Executive Member of the WTAAA (World Travel Agents Associations Alliance).

Throughout her career Wendy has had the privilege of working with some of Canada’s leading Travel Companies and has expertise in every facet of travel agency sales and operations in corporate, leisure and incentive travel.

Prior to joining ACTA as President in 2016, Wendy had the opportunity to spend several years as a senior executive working in the Tourism Learning and Development field, where she gained valuable expertise leading the development of national occupation standards for Travel and Tourism careers along with accompanying high impact training programs.

Wendy is a graduate of Centennial College’s Travel Counselling Program, and has also earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western University, with a specialization in Business Administration and Political Science. A believer in life-long learning, Wendy continues to engage in professional development opportunities including the Executive Leadership Programs at Harvard Business School. Drawing on the breadth of her education, experience and knowledge she is a sought after speaker for industry conferences.

Christine WalshRegional Director of Product Marketing – Boeing

Christine is currently a Regional Director in Product Marketing. In her words, she enjoys the opportunity to talk with our customers about the value Boeing designs, builds and tests into its commercial airplanes.

Previously, Christine served as the Deputy Chief Pilot for the 737 and 737MAX programs. She flew the 1st flight of the 737-9 MAX. Her prior positions include Chief Engineer Flight Test and 737 Validation Chief Engineer, Flight Crew Operations and Requirements engineer and Payloads engineer. Christine joined Boeing in 1989.

Christine holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate (Boeing 737, 747-400, 757, 767, 777, 787 and A320). She has also flown float planes, small aircraft and paragliders. She is an Associate Fellow with the Society of Experimental Test Pilots. She holds 2 aviation world records, set on the 787 Dreamliner.

Christine earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington.

Terry ReutlingerRegional VP, Strategic Account Manager – AMEX

Terry has been in the travel industry for over 25 years. He has held various roles in Sales, Operations and Account Management within the hotel industry and the TMC space. Terry currently leads the Account Management team for American Express Global Business Travel for the GTA and Western Canada regions, and resides in Calgary, AB. Robert NeedsGeneral Manager – Sabre

Robert (Jake) is a General Manager with Sabre Travel Network. His team is responsible for renewal and new business development in North America for GDS services for TMCs and CTDs.

Robert has been with Sabre Travel Network for over 30 years. He has held multiple customer contact and customer facing positions during his tenure - from contract processing, billing operations management, sales/customer service management, and regional account management.
Robert earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. He is also an advisory board member to a non-profit in North Texas called FEAT. They work with parents and siblings of autistic children through support and education. He loves to play golf and enjoys many different professional sports.

Alicia LinesRegional Director, Financial & Distribution Services – IATA

Ms. Lines is a graduate in Business Administration & Marketing who started her career in travel and tourism in a family business responsible for sales and marketing for Alamo, Hyatt and Hilton Hotels in Costa Rica.

Alicia joined IATA in 2001 after moving to the Dominican Republic as IATA BSP Coordinator. She later became Country Manager for the Western Caribbean region, looking after Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, The Cayman Islands and Cuba. During that tenure she was also a Regional Project Manager for the Americas for the Simplifying the Business project which abolished paper tickets, implemented bar coded boarding passes amongst other passenger experience technological enhancements.

Since her transfer to Miami Regional office in 2012, she has served as Head of IATA Regional Vice-President’s Office coordinating IATA’s strategy and allocating resources for the America’s, Human Resources Head and appointed Regional Director for IATA’s Financial and Distribution Services Division for the Americas, responsible for IATA Settlement Systems (ISS) which enables the swift, reliable, and efficient movement of funds between airlines and their travel partners. In 2018, the ISS settled globally over US$430 billion and advocating for the future changes in distribution such as New Gen ISS, NDC and One Order.
